“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
(John 4:23.24)

Have you ever considered the idea of worship? Or, put a better way, have you ever considered GOD’S idea of worship?

In John 4:23, Jesus says that the Father is SEEKING those who will worship Him in spirit and truth.

Imagine that. God is SEEKING true worshipers. He desires our worship. He is looking for those who will worship Him with their whole heart. Apparently, this is very important to the Father and vital to our relationship with Him.

I looked up the Greek word used for worship in this passage. It is proskuneo (pros-koo-neh-oh). Now, get this…Proskuneo is derived from pros, “toward,” and kuneo, “to kiss.”

I love it! Worship means moving or having focus toward someone or something and to kiss, meaning intimacy, connection, love! Oh my goodness. It sounds like there is more to it than tradition, doesn’t it?

This helps me understand what worship means to my Father. Worship is the bridge that connects us to Him emotionally. Yes, I used the word emotionally.

Through worship God embraces us with HIS love.
Through worship we embrace God with OUR love.
That’s something to get emotional about, amen?

Beautiful…I am my beloved’s and He is mine.

Praise You, Lord. Awaken our hearts to love You more and to worship You in spirit and in truth. Stir up our love that lies dormant at times. Remind us that You personify the greatest love story ever told and we are the chosen one for that love. That is incredible! Thank You, Lord. Forgive us for allowing pride to keep us from revealing our love for You. Bless You, Father!
