Endurance is possible when we depend on Jesus for our strength.

Endurance is possible when we depend on Jesus for our strength.

“Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works.

“We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives.

“It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.” ~ Colossians 1:9-12, MSG

Lord, I desire genuine faith. Authentic. Raw. The kind that keeps its peace and does not become rattled when life is hard. I desire endurance — not endurance that is merely a source of survival, but endurance born of hope and joy and complete trust.

Endurance born of unwavering faith.

I know my faith runs deep, Lord, and I’m thankful for that because I know that I know You are my God and I am held securely in the palm of Your hand.

I am not defeated.

I am victorious through the Blood of Jesus — made more than a conqueror through Him who loves me!

Yes and amen.

But then I have days like today when I’m weary from the struggle — days when I get tired of the thorns in my rose garden and I want to lay down my sword and shield and just rest and be and find peace.

I need peace, Lord.

The peace that passes all understanding.

The peace that comes from assurance and endurance and fortitude and purpose.

Te peace that comes from You.

Thank You for Your peace. Thank You for loving me even through my tantrums. Thank You for the grace to run our race with endurance … when we ask … when we believe.

I’m asking You for endurance, Lord.

Not just for myself, but for countless others who desire to glorify You with their lives. Keep our eyes on the prize. Keep our eyes on You and not our circumstances so that we might run our race well.

You are the Waymaker.

You are the Victor.

And we are Yours.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen
