Yes! He is good ... even when our path leads through Gethsemane.
Yes! He is good … even when our path leads through Gethsemane.

“He went a little farther [into the Garden of Gethsemane], and fell on His face and prayed, saying, ‘O my Father, if it possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.'” ~ Matthew 26:39

Lord, You alone are worthy of praise for You are good. You are faithful, and True. On You I can depend.

God is Good, Even Through Gethsemane

Your goodness is constant. Even when my circumstances lead me through Gethsemane, Your goodness still stands.

I can’t rely on my feelings — and I don’t want to — but doggone it, my emotions run so high and I really don’t like this season I’m in. Some days it is more than I can bear and I want it to all go away.

But then I remember Your goodness and I remember that You are for me and not against me.

When I realize God is with me, my Gethsemane becomes more bearable.
When I realize God is with me, my Gethsemane becomes more bearable.

When I think on those things?

My Gethsemane becomes more bearable and I realize You are with me in this difficult place.

I also remember You promise to work everything together for my good because I love You. You are not a man that You should lie.

Make me brave, Lord — brave and determined.

I desire to obey You in all things, but goodness, it’s hard.

May My Will Align With Yours, Lord

May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to You, Lord — the murmuring and complaining escaping my lips as I walk through Gethsemane cease.

May my will align with Yours.

Help me pick up my Cross and follow You from the pain of Gethsemane, to the glory of the revelation of who You are, especially in this difficult place.

You are my God. You are my Lord.

Even through Gethsemane, I will praise Him.
Even through Gethsemane, I will praise Him.

In You there is no shadow of turning for you will always be there for me — through the good and bad, through the places of justice and those places where justice is hard to find.

And although my current path leads through Gethsemane, I will praise You and give You thanks, for You are good. Always.

I trust You, Lord.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen
