Lord, You have taught me that You are my shield, my great reward. I can depend on You — and I do. I can trust You — and I do.
You, Lord, Are a Shield For Me
You surround me with songs of deliverance, protecting me from the assaults of the enemy. Thank You for Your faithfulness.
I’m the one who isn’t always faithful.
Sometimes I stumble and fall and listen to the lies of the enemy. Sometimes I don’t keep my eyes on You and then my circumstances consume me.
I want You to consume me, Lord. Consume me with Your love. Overshadow me with the comfort and protection of Your wings, keeping me safe while the enemy passes me by.
Lift high Your shield round about me.
Mine took a huge hit. I felt it and it sent me reeling. It nearly shook me to my core.
But, You know what, Lord? Although the battle was fierce, and there is evidence of the enemy’s attack, You protected me and have redeemed all the enemy stole from me — damaged shield and all.
The Lord is My Strength and My Shield
I will continue to lift high my shield of faith, in Your Name, in Your power.
You are my strength, my protector.
You are my shield, especially when my own shield of faith is weakened. With my song I will praise You and magnify Your holy Name, for You are faithful, Lord, and You are good.
You alone are worthy of my praise.
