My soul longs for You, Lord, in a dry and weary land. Fill me to overflowing with Your love.

I remember the days of old.
I ponder all your great works
and think about what you have done.
I lift my hands to you in prayer.
[My soul longs for You] as parched land thirsts for rain.  Selah

Come quickly, Lord, and answer me,
    for my depression deepens.
Don’t turn away from me,
    or I will die.

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning,
    for I am trusting you.
Show me where to walk,
for I give myself to you. ~ Psalm 143:5-8, NLT

My Soul Longs for You in a Dry and Weary Land

O Lord, how I love You! I am so thankful for Your grace, Your mercy, Your abiding presence that soothes my restless thoughts.

My soul longs for You, Lord.
My soul longs for You, Lord.

My soul longs to know You more, to love You deeper.

I want to grow in the knowledge of You, but mostly I long to be Your friend.

I want You to call me Your friend as You did Abraham — for us to be that close.

These longings stir persistently within me. My heart responds — but my flesh is weak.

And sometimes rebellious. And always selfish.

My flesh wants to sleep later.

My flesh wants to procrastinate.

My flesh wants to obey You when it’s easy, not when it costs something.

O wretched woman that I am! Those things I want to do, I don’t do and those things I don’t want to do — I do! Forgive me, Lord. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.

Awaken my heart to know You more, Lord.
Awaken my heart to know You more, Lord.

For You are good. You are my God and I am Your child

Awaken my heart to know and love You more. Teach me Your mysteries found in the Secret Place beneath the shadow of Your wing.

Help me grow in the knowledge and understanding of who You are so that I walk in Your ways every moment of every day.

No wavering.

No doubt or fear.

Always walking in faith and not by sight.

Fill Me to Overflowing With Your Love

My soul longs for You, Lord, in a dry and thirsty land. Fill me to overflowing with Your love. Let Your Living Water flow in and through me to find and heal the dark crevices in my broken heart — those places damaged painfully deep.

Draw me near as I draw near to You. I want to hear Your heartbeat. I want to dance with You in the rain, and run with You across the meadows green.

I am Your Beloved and You are mine.

I love you, Lord.

In Jesus’s Name I pray,

Amen
