Prayer When You’re tired on the Inside & Need a Belly Laugh

Though the fig tree does not blossom
And there is no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive fails
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock is cut off from the fold
And there are no cattle in the stalls,

Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord;

Laughter is Good for the Soul, Especially When You’re Tired on the Inside

Lord, how gracious You are. You are full of compassion, cloaked in goodness. You are the Great I AM — all that we could ever need. Even when we’re tired on the inside, You understand and help us muster up some joy.

I could use a belly laugh, Lord — the rolling on the floor, happy tears streaming down my cheeks, losing my breath kind of belly laugh. Oh, how fun!

You have provided so many of those over the years.

Thank You for Your joy unspeakable, for rejoicing when we rejoice and weeping when we weep.

Thank You for quieting us with Your love.

I’m tired on the inside, Lord. I ask for a fresh anointing of strength, purpose … of joy. I ask for renewed energy to accomplish the work of my hands and heart

Take My Hand, Lord and Help Me Rise

I ask that You take my hand and infuse me with Your power to rise up above my restless thoughts, my weary spirit, and gaze into Your beautiful face. I want You to be all I see for awhile.

Because when I am tired on the inside, You are all I need to feel better.

In Jesus’s Name I pray,
