“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! … Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:4,6-7
Lord, what a Mighty God You are! You are faithful and true, merciful and kind. You work miracles in our midst, even when we aren’t aware of it.
You, Lord, are worthy of praise.
Remind us of this, Lord.
Remind us that, even when life is hard, we can — and should — rejoice in You. Always.
When our hearts are set on rejoicing — praise, worship, adoration — we become like the bird who sings in the twilight of dawn. All about her is darkness, yet she knows the new day is dawning.
She knows her Redeemer lives.
She knows nothing is impossible for her God.
She rejoices with her song in the night and heralds the sunrise.
And she is changed.
She is changed because of her song that expects the light of day to return.
Open our eyes to see, Lord. Awaken our hearts to understand Your truth. We must learn to rejoice in You always, for our praise ushers in the dawn — the glory of Your Presence.
Rejoicing always honors You — it reminds us that You are God and nothing is too hard for You. It reminds us that we are in this world but not of it — that yes, life is hard, but greater is He that is in us.
Rejoicing lifts our wings to rise above the fray, to sit with You in heavenly heights. It opens our heart to let You come in and shine Your light into the darkened corners.
To rejoice in the face of difficulties is a gift from You, Lord. It’s supernatural.
Utterly ridiculous in the world’s eyes.
But that’s what makes it so miraculous — the world doesn’t understand, but You do.
And You respond.
And You join in the celebration.
We choose to honor You with our praise, to rejoice in You always — especially when it’s hard, because in the rejoicing You come and reveal Yourself to us. We remember Your goodness, and trust returns. Hope for tomorrow swells in our hearts as praise escapes our lips.
Thank You for Your promises, for they are true.
You are an awesome God.
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Please don’t carry your burdens alone. I would be honored to pray for you.
