Listen carefully. Can you hear it? Nature is groaning in travail for the birth of spring.
Naked branches continue their stretch toward heaven. Silent on the outside. Joy bubbling on the inside. Their stretch never ceases, even during the harshest winter storms. Persistence. Endurance. Patience. Tiny buds of life press against the charcoal tips waiting expectantly for the perfect moment – the God ordained moment to break forth.
I wonder if nature ever grows weary while it waits for spring.
Or does it rest in the knowledge that without the winter there could be no spring?
“For as the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the things
that are sown in it to spring forth,
So the Lord God will cause
righteousness and praise
to spring forth
before all the nations.”
~ Isaiah 61:11
The Lord God WILL cause righteousness and praise to spring forth. He will. He promises. After the travail. After the endurance. The rest. The trials that howl against the soul seeking to topple like a forlorn naked tree on forest edge. Yes, the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth.
And when He does it will be glorious.
