Create in me a clean heart, O Lord.

Create in me a clean heart, O Lord.

Father, thank You for loving me, especially when I can’t love myself. Create in me a clean heart, O Lord. Renew a steadfast spirit in me that is solely focused on You and Your faithfulness and Your promises that sustain me. Restore unto me the joy of my salvation and Lord, never, never let go of my hand. I need You desperately.

Thank You for your forgiveness when my heart grows cold and clouded by the hurt. Thank You for Your mercy when I cry out to You. Show me how to guard my heart against the torments of the enemy so that it remains pure before You. You promise that the pure in heart will see You. I want to see You Lord. I want to know You more. And more.

And more.

I pray for those who are struggling this Christmas season. Remind each of us that the Christ Child was born as a response to the cries of Your people. Jesus came to bring light into our darkness. We forget that Lord. Our emotions become contingent on what the world describes as the perfect family, the perfect home, the perfect gifts — and how we measure up. But You, Lord, are the One who holds perfection. Your gifts are eternal. Beyond description. A league of their own.

And Your gifts belong to us.

YOU belong to us.

You are our God.

And in our darkest midnight, Your light radiates and cloaks our personal world with the dawning of hope and peace. Your love creates a clean heart in the one who is longing for restoration. Your love is a song in our night — a song for the suffering.

Your love is embodied in the Christ Child — Jesus.

Emmanuel.

Thank You Lord. You are beyond amazing. Your Presence is accessible, tangible, and satisfies a longing soul. We love You and give You praise.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen
