roll the stone away so I may behold my miracle

“28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” ~ Matthew 28:1-6, NIV

God’s Resurrection Power is Available Even Today

Lord, You are the risen Savior — death no longer holds its sting. You conquered the grave, You made a way for me to know the Father, You made a way to make me whole. The stone was rolled away — not because You needed it to happen, but so that we could behold the miracle of Your resurrection. Will You roll the stone away again … for me? Symbolically? I need to see a miracle.

The stone was rolled away to prove anything is possible with You. Nothing in heaven or earth is too hard for You.

roll the stone away so I may behold my miracle

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, especially in these perilous days. But I remember that You are the God who sees me and knows all about it. Whatever I’m facing You care about and You are working to respond.

When I walk through the waters, I will not drown because You are with me.

When I walk through the fire, I will not burn — I won’t even smell like smoke — because You are with me.

I know these truths, I believe these truths, and yet some days my faith wavers. Sometimes I only see the difficult place and not You, I see the impossibility and not Your power and ability.

Some days I see the stone blocking the way.

Will You roll the stone away so I can behold my miracle? Help me trust You while I wait. Help me rest in You while the miracle lingers.

Just as the stone was rolled away that Resurrection morning so long ago, I wait with anticipation to see Your face and behold my miracle. It may be the miracle of Your grace, Your peace. It may be the miracle of Your provision or healing. Whatever the need, will You roll the stone away to remind me that Your love will never fail?

God is Who He Says He is. He Will Roll the Stone Away

You are faithful, God. You are who You say You are. You do what You say You will do. I will worship You always — miracle or not. I will worship You, my God and my King because I love You. You alone are worthy of all praise.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen — let it be so
