“Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.” ~ Romans 4:18-20, NLT
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.” ~ Psalm 27:13, NKJV
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” ~ Hebrews 10:23, NKJV
Even When There is No Reason for Hope, I Still Believe
Father, You are who You say You are; You do what You say You will do. You are not a man that You should lie. Therefore, like Abraham believed against all hope when there was no reason that he could be the father of many nations, so I believe that I will see Your goodness in the land of the living.
I believe that Your goodness will conquer the evil.
I believe that You will rise up and scatter Your enemies.
I believe that You will pour out Your Spirit on Your sons and daughters. Indeed, You have already begun to do so.
The darker the darkness grows, the brighter Your light becomes, shining as a beacon for those who are far from You. Open their eyes that they may see. Awaken their hearts to receive Your love. Make me brave to tell them the story of Jesus.
You are my light and my salvation. You are the strength of my life — of whom shall I be afraid? Against all hope, against everything that tried to destroy me, I still stand firm in my faith. I stand against the work of the enemy of my soul, and I stand in the gap for my nation, for my family, and for my friends.
In the time of trouble, You will hide me in the secret place beneath Your wing and You will set me high upon a rock. My head will be lifted up above my enemies all around me and I will sing. Yes! I will sing praises to You, O Lord.
I Look for You, Lord
Against all hope, in hope I do believe I will see Your goodness once again in the land of the living. With expectant prayers, I look for Your righteousness to rain down, for Your power to right the wrongs, and for Your Truth to expose the lies.
I look for You, Lord — my good and faithful God.
Against all hope, in hope, I believe.
