“For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:7, AMP
“If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage—our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit].” ~ Galatians 5:25, AMP
“It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.” ~ Hebrews 11:8-10, NLT
Sometimes It Is Hard to Reconcile What I’m Seeing With What I Know About You, Lord
Father, I’m so thankful You are the Ruler over all the earth. And I’m thankful You are good, You are merciful, and You are kind. That knowledge helps me walk by faith. I try not to walk by sight but seeing still gets to me.
Sometimes it is hard to reconcile what I’m seeing with what I know about You. I question how such evil could be taking over our nation and world. I question how an all-powerful God could allow such things to happen.
But then I remember.

I remember this world is fallen and until Jesus returns, this is Satan’s domain — he is the prince of the power of the air. He is like a roaring lion roaming the earth seeking whom he may devour through division, distraction, discouragement, and deception.
He is the ‘why’ behind what I see.
But You, Lord, are the reason I can walk by faith with confidence. It is You who tells the ocean how far it can come. It is You who hung the stars in place and hold the seas in the hollow of Your hand.
You ARE Almighty God!

You are faithful, and You remain with Your child through it all, never leaving us, never forsaking us. You draw near to the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit.
When I walk by faith, I see You, I recognize Your presence. But when I walk by sight, all I see are my circumstances. They are monumental at times, difficult, and consuming.
Help me be steadfast in my walk of faith. I don’t want to waver. I don’t want to be tossed to and fro when the path is littered with obstacles. I want to hold fast to what I know to be true … regardless.
I Will Walk by Faith Holding to Your Right Hand
Call to me, Lord, and I will look up to behold Your glory! Whisper my name and I will remember who I am to You — Your daughter.
And I will walk by faith holding to Your right hand. Bless You, Lord. I love You.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so

Sweet blessings to you,

Again, thank you Nan for expressing what we all too often are overwhelmed with. And as you put in writing your heart, you bring us to the reality of “Christ in us the hope of glory. I was reading this morning Psalm 84:5-7. “Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring, the rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength” God bless you dear Nan. I pray for seasons of refreshing for you Nan. Blessings always, Grace
Thank you so much for your kind words and blessing. I love that Scripture too and the concept of pilgrimage. What a beautiful word and description of our walk with the Lord. The Valley of Baca actually means the Valley of Weeping. The Lord walks through the valleys of weeping with us, His presence bringing strength, peace, and comfort.I am comforted everytime I consider this Truth. His love is truly amazing! Thank you for sharing 🙂
