O Lamb of God, I come to You to find rest

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” ~ John 1:29, NKJV

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” ~ Revelation 5:12, NKJV

“Truly my soul finds rest in God;
    my salvation comes from Him.
Truly He is my rock and my salvation;
    He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” ~ Psalm 62:1-2, NIV

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” ~ Matthew 11:28-29, NIV

Find Me Faithful in the Struggle, Lord

Lord, You are great and greatly to be praised. You are the precious Lamb of God, slain for me so that I might live for all of eternity with You.

May I never take You for granted. May I never be so self-absorbed that I fail to see You in my difficult places.

Lamb of God, slain for me

You promised to never leave me nor forsake me — You are faithful to keep Your word. As the stresses of life increase and the afflictions of the righteous grow in number and intensity, remind me of Your abiding presence — how sweet is the touch of Your hand, the whisper of Your voice.

O Lamb of God, I come to You for rest as only You can give. Help me cease striving and trust You more. My soul is weary from the outward struggle to be a light in this darkened world, and my heart is troubled by what Your refiner’s fire reveals in me. Find me faithful, Lord.

I’m thankful for Your love that pursues holiness in me and burns away the dross.

O Lamb of God, I come to You for rest

But it’s hard and uncomfortable.

Living a life of holiness is not for the faint of heart, is it, Lord? It requires surrender and it requires learning to fully rest in You, to be still before You, and lean into the trust I have placed in You.

You are Worthy, O Lamb of God!

Thank You for loving me enough to do what it takes to make me more like You. My desire is to be a vessel of honor for the glory of Your Name. You are worthy, O Lamb of God! You are worthy of all honor and glory and praise.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen ~ let it be so
