“I called on Your name, O Lord, from the lowest pit. You have heard my voice; ‘Do not hide Your ear from my sighing, from my cry for help.’ You drew near on the day I called on You, and said, ‘Do not fear!'” ~ Lamentations 3:55-57
Lord, thank You for hearing us when we cry out to You. Your mercy is great; Your love amazing. We praise You Lord for You alone are worthy of our praise. You are a great God. Thank You for calling us Your own.
Each day comes with its own challenges and sometimes the challenges come to us like rapid fire. And sometimes we don’t dodge quick enough and we get hit, knocked to our knees, face in the sand.
And we don’t like it.
In fact, we get tired in the fight.
But then You, O Lord, in Your great mercy scoop us up into Your mighty arms of grace and breathe new life into Your broken child. How can we thank You enough Lord?
How can we exalt Your Name more to express how worthy You are of our praise?
Praise and thanksgiving is the key, isn’t it? I mean it really is the answer because our praise ushers in Your Presence and creates a rapid response to our needs.
Praise is the ladder that allows us to escape the pit.
Teach us to praise You from the rising of the sun to its setting. Teach us to give thanks in all things, especially the things we don’t like because giving thanks opens the windows of heaven and allows Your breath of new life to flow.
Bless You Lord. Encourage those who are struggling today. Strengthen those who are overwhelmed by life’s hardships — those who find themselves in a pit of depression, confusion, and fear.
Stir within them.
Awaken their hearts to recognize Your Presence with them, to take hold of the power of Your Holy Spirit within them — power to rise and overcome.
Overcome with expectation of a better tomorrow.
Overcome with laughter in the face of adversity.
Hope in the face of despair.
We love You Lord. You are an awesome God and a faithful Father.
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen

UPDATE on my daughter, Nancy.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for my baby girl. We are believing for a successful surgery this time. Dr. Moorman believes that by Christmas she will have her leg and foot back. She has been in a full leg brace since December 2016 for a post-lateral reconstructive surgery on her knee that ended with complications. But praise God! He moved mountains to get her in with Dr. Moorman who is the new department chairman of the Orthopedic Surgery Department at Carolinas Medical Center/Mercy in Charlotte, NC.
Nancy is making daily progress with her strength and some progress with her pain. The extreme pain is stemming from the nerve decompression required to get her foot and leg functional again. As long as we stay ahead of it, the pain is bearable.
Again, thank you for the prayers. We travel back to Charlotte this Wednesday, August 8th to remove bandages and stitches. Physical therapy will begin the following week.
I appreciate you so much!
With a hug, Nan
Thank You Jesus. You alone are worthy of honor and praise. Thank You for Your healing and grace. And for loving me. Yes and amen. 🙂
Amen! He is so faithful to us 🙂
Thank you for the update on your daughter’s surgery. Will continue to remember you both in prayer for plentiful physical and spiritual strength. May our dear Lord speak over your hearts and bring you new life! Thank you every so much for your encouraging words. Today’s prayer especially tugs at my heart strings! May the Lord Bless You and Keep You….May the Lord Shine His Face Upon You and Bring You Peace!!
Jo-Ann, you are so precious! Thank you for your encouraging words and for your prayers. We travel back to Charlotte tomorrow to remove stitches. The Lord is merciful with the pain management, and for that we are very thankful. I’m also thankful the words of prayer from my heart strengthened you in your journey. I always ask the Lord to guide our conversation. Then I close my eyes and type as I pray knowing that HE knows the one who needs to be drawn to Him in that moment. God is good, isn’t He?
