When we are tired from weariness, listen and hear the Lord call your name.
“O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.
“So I have looked for You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.” ~ Psalm 63:1-2
Lord, I am so tired I can barely think. It’s hard to do the things I need and want to do. But You are my strength! You are my God who has shown me Your might and power. I know of Your mercy and grace. And I rely on Your faithfulness to sustain me.
These things I know, and yet I am so tired.
My soul thirsts for You and my flesh longs for You in my weariness. You have taught me to seek Your Presence — Your sanctuary. Your tabernacle. Your Secret Place. I remember these things Lord and I am helped.
I choose to run there — to be in Your Presence. Forgive me for not running sooner.
For in Your Presence is fullness of joy
In Your Presence is perfect peace.
In Your Presence is strength because You, Lord, are the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
My portion … My inheritance …
My inheritance includes Your strength when I am weary.
My inheritance includes the right to enter into Your Secret Place and receive rest.
My inheritance includes soaring with the wings of eagles above the storms that wear me down — when I wait on You.
Being tired threatens to be my new norm. I know many who struggle with the same. We are too busy to be still and remember that You are God. But it is in the being still — it is in the remembering that our tired bodies and minds receive strength.
Call to us, Lord. As deep calls to deep, call us out of the deep, dark places of weariness and lift us up into the light of Your glory. Help us soak in Your power and strength so that our bodies and minds would be refreshed.
You are an amazing God. We are so thankful for Your love.
