“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” ~ Psalm 73:25-26
O Lord, You are my God, my light and my salvation. I have placed my hope in You and You have never failed me. This I know.
I Am Often Weary and Overwhelmed
Even still, my heart is failing me. I am weary and often overwhelmed because I look past Your loving gaze and see only my circumstances. I rush ahead of You into the darkened path rather than staying within the light of Your Word and the strength of Your presence.
Some days I am guilty of pushing You aside and rushing ahead in my own strength. And that is when I become overwhelmed or fearful or worn to a frazzle.
Forgive me, Lord. I know better. Make me aware of those moments when I choose to run ahead without You. Correct my steps.
You are strength to the needy in our distress.
You are a Refuge in our storm, a shade from the heat that burns and leaves us parched.
Quench our thirst for You, Lord. Draw us near that we might declare “O my soul, march on!”
March on in Your strength.
March on in the power of Your might.
March on in the beauty of Your holiness and the miracle of Your grace.
March on …
And in the marching with my hand gripped in Yours, my heart is strengthened. Only in You. With You. Beside You.
You are the Strength of My Heart
Thank You for Your strength, Lord — You are the strength of my heart. Your love sustains me.
In Jesus’s Name I pray,
Amen

I love that Psalm too 🙂 It’s a great one. I’ll message you soon. My son is getting married this weekend and I’m going to be the wedding officiant because David isn’t able to do it any longer. Once I get that behind me we’ll chat. Love you too.
Thank you Nan. I needed this reminder to march on in the strength of the Lord and not my own. 🙂
You’re so welcome. I think many of us are in this same place. The fire has been hot lately 😉
Thank you Nan for your beautiful words. I am in need of all the strength and will I can get today.
God bless you and your post.

Bless your heart, Tina. Even now, I am asking the Lord to strengthen you by the power of His might and the sweet presence of His Spirit. Press into Him and rest there in that moment. He fights our battles for us when we cease striving and remember that HE is God and nothing is too hard for Him. I’ll continue to pray for you.
Me, yesterday and into today. Better come bedtime as I read your words. Thank you.
Oh, Lisa, you are an amazing warrior for Christ. Tighten up your belt of Truth and remember who you are: a daughter of the Most High God, His beloved, His special treasure whose heart rejoices each time He thinks of you. You are loved.
