You are my strength and my song. I need You, Lord

“See, God has come to save me.
I will trust in Him and not be afraid.
The Lord God is my strength and my song;
He has given me victory.” ~ Isaiah 12:2, NLT

“I’m singing my heart out to God—what a victory!
He pitched horse and rider into the sea.
God is my strength, God is my song,
and, yes! God is my salvation.
This is the kind of God I have
    and I’m telling the world!
This is the God of my father—
I’m spreading the news far and wide!
God is a fighter,
    pure God, through and through.”
~ Exodus 15:1-3, MSG

My Hope is Found in You, Lord

Lord, whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. When I don’t know what to do, I will look to You. You are my help. You are my strength and my song. My hope is found in You.

As the cares of this world multiply, they are eating at me. I listen for Your gentle whisper, but it’s hard to hear over the noise. I seek You and lean into Your embrace, but the shadows seem darker. I need to hear Your voice, Lord.

Oh, Lord, You just reminded me of something … perhaps the shadows are growing darker because You are drawing near in my distress. The darkness is but the shadow of Your wing covering me, protecting me … soothing me.

You are my strength and my song.

What a wonderful God You are! You are my strength and my song, the reason that I sing. You are faithful and true, merciful and kind. You love me with an everlasting love, looking beyond my faults and carrying me through the fires of adversity.

Thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for Your longsuffering when I take my eyes off You and, instead, focus on the difficult places. That’s when I lose sight of You. That’s when a weariness seeps into my spirit and my thoughts grow restless with worry.

You Are My Strength and My Song

Please forgive me. I know better. I will give You glory for as long as I live. With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. When I hear Your voice, Your words of reassurance, I will sing Your praise, Lord, for You are worthy of all praise.

When I am weak, You are strong, for You are my strength and my song. On You, I can rely.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen ~ let it be so
