In the beginning, Lord, Your Spirit hovered over the waters. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep. And then You spoke and brought order to the chaos. Thank You for this imagery — I can see it clearly, and it reassures me in my own season of difficulty. You are WITH me, Lord, and You DWELL WITHIN me — I am not alone, for You are my Helper.
You speak, and light overcomes my darkness.
You speak, and confusion is gone.
You speak, and there is peace.
I am Your child. You hold me in moments of upset or overwhelm — I don’t know how You do it, but I certainly know You do. I have felt the warmth and comfort of Your embrace. Your presence in my life is so beautiful. Because You are my Helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings, and I cling to You;
How can I thank You enough? If I praised You from the rising of the sun to the setting of the same, it would not be enough to show my gratitude. You are so good to me, so faithful and kind. I love You, Lord. With You by my side, I can truly say, “It is well with my soul.”
For I know that You are for me, and not against me. You search me and know my anxious thoughts … and You love me still. I have no need to fear uncertain days, for You, my God, are with me, surrounding me as a shield, and You dwell within me, filling the emptiness of my heart.
I cling to Jesus because He is my Helper
Blessed be Your Name, Lord God, for You alone deserve all honor, glory, and praise. Thank You for allowing me to cling to You, and thank You for being my Helper when life is hard.
