The Waves on This Stormy Sea are Threatening Me, Lord
O Lord, I’m so blessed to be Your child. Thank You for Your tender, diligent watchcare over me. I’m overwhelmed by the difficult places in my life, and yet, I am aware of Your precious presence. Help me walk on this stormy sea to reach Your embrace.
I hear Your voice calling to me, “Do not be afraid.” You are encouraging me to reach out for Your hand and to trust You. But the waves are high and ferocious. The wind is howling, and I can barely see you through the misty veil.
Yet I hear Your delicate whisper.
You remind me that when I pass through the waters, I will not drown because You are with me. When I pass through the fires of adversity, I will not burn because You are my God, who is a shield about me. You have redeemed me and called me Your own.
Oh, what love! What beautiful reassurance You give to me. Help me keep my eyes on You so I won’t be afraid of this storm-tossed sea that threatens me. Greater are You, Lord, than he that is in the world. You are for me, and not against me. You are with me. You love me with an everlasting love …
Therefore, I will not be afraid. When the enemy taunts me. I will resist him and speak Your holy Name … Jesus … Jesus, and he will flee. The waves will stop crashing around me, and the once stormy sea will calm and glisten like polished silver in the moonlight.
You, Lord, are my Refuge in the Storm
Rise up, O God, and scatter my enemies. Let no weapon formed against me prosper, as You lead me in paths of righteousness for Your Name’s sake. You are my ‘fourth’ man in the fire, my deliverer from the stormy sea. I will bless You for as long as I live.
You are my Beloved, and I am Yours.
