I Will Fear No Evil for The Lord Is With Me
Lord, You are my God. You hide me beneath the shadow of Your wing and I am safe. I will fear no evil, but it sure does whisper loudly calling my name, taunting me, causing me to tremble. Sometimes it’s hard to stand strong.
You, Lord, are my refuge and my fortress. Your truth is my shield and buckler, and in Your Name, I have placed my trust. Though a thousand fall at my side, and ten thousand fall at my right hand, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. You have given Your angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways.
Even in the darkest valley, You make Yourself known to me. Oh, Lord, how beautiful is Your love! I trust You. I rely upon Your faithfulness to me.
When I speak Your Name, You are there. I cry out to You in my distress and You hear me, You meet my every need.
Let Not Your Heart be Troubled
Repeatedly, You tell me not to fear, for You are with me. I do my best to keep my eyes fixed on You — I really do. But there are days I give into the fear. I slip out from beneath the shelter of Your wing and quit relying on You. My thoughts run rampant and we won’t even talk about my imagination … it knows no bounds when I’m traipsing across that dark valley.
Please forgive me, Lord. You have promised me peace — You are my peace. You clearly tell me to not let my heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid because You are with me every moment of every day.
… Let not my heart be troubled … Let …
It’s a choice, isn’t it Lord? I can stand on Your promises and not be afraid, or I can listen to the lies of the enemy and entertain his thoughts.
I choose You, Lord. I will fear no evil because I am Your child. You call me daughter, Your beloved. I cannot fathom the depth of Your love, and yet I try … oh, how I try. Thank You for Your love that keeps me, and shelters me, and carries me when I am too weary to walk on my own.
You Make Me Brave, Lord
Thank You for Your love that makes me brave because I know I am not alone.
I will fear no evil.
