O Morning Stare, arise. My darkness needs Your light.

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” ~ Revelation 22:16, NKJV

“So we have the prophetic word made more certain. You do well to pay [close] attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and light breaks through the gloom and the morning star arises in your hearts.” ~ 2 Peter 1:19, AMP

“The God of Israel spoke.
The Rock of Israel said to me:
‘The one who rules righteously,
who rules in the fear of God,
is like the light of morning at sunrise,
    like a morning without clouds,
like the gleaming of the sun
on new grass after rain.’” ~ 2 Samuel 23:3-4, NLT

“But as for me, I will sing about Your power.
Each morning I will sing with joy about Your unfailing love.
For You have been my refuge,
a place of safety when I am in distress.” ~ Psalm 59:16, NLT

“Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord]; for your light has come,
And the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you.” ~ Isaiah 60:1, AMP

You are my Morning Star. Darkness cannot exist in Your light.

Lord, I’m struggling. Not every moment of every day, but there are some days that overwhelm comes in like a tsunami and consumes me. I sense a steady slide that needs Your intervention. You are the bright and Morning Star. Would You shine into my darkness and overcome it with Your light?

You are my Morning Star. Darkness cannot exist in Your light.

In the morning I look to You. As I sip my coffee and watch the sun come up over the ridge, I lean into Your love and find peace. Indeed, Your mercies are new every morning. I open my mouth and You fill it … I’m so thankful.

But then the day progresses and the difficulties increase. Like a frightened rabbit, I cower rather than stand to resist the enemy who slinks out of the darkness to oppress me. The darkness threatens me and momentarily I forget who I am. I am Your child … You call me daughter.

I must arise and shine, for my light has come! Your glory and brilliance have risen upon me — You are my Morning Star. Darkness cannot exist in the light of Your love.

I must arise and shine for my light has come.

Strengthen me to stand firm, to resist the enemy through the power of Your Name. You, Lord, are my joy, my peace. You are a shield about me, the glory and the lifter of my head. I will not receive his lies but will lift high my shield of faith to quench the flaming arrows sent to harm me.

Hide me beneath the shadow of Your Wing where Your comfort has no end

You, Lord, are my hiding place. You preserve me from trouble and You surround me with songs of deliverance as I look to You. As the morning star breaks through the darkness of night to welcome the dawn, so You are my light in the darkness. I will not be afraid of things I cannot control because You are with me. I am beneath the shadow of Your wings where Your comfort has no end.

Thank You, Lord. You love me so tenderly … so beautifully. And You understand my heart that has become fragile. Hold me fast as I cling to You. You are my Beloved and I am yours. I love you, Lord.

In Jesus’s Name, I pray,

Amen
