Where would I be without You, Jesus? It is well

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling.

The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah ~ Psalm 46:1-3,7

‘But I am trusting You, O Lord,
    saying, “You are my God!”
My future is in Your hands.
    Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly.
 Let Your favor shine on Your servant.” ~ Psalm 31:14-16

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.  Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” ~ Philippians 4:8

“For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us! For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed … In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words.” ~ Romans 8:18-19, 26

It is well with my soul … what a beautiful gift

I love You, Jesus … where would I be without You? You are my strength, my joy; You are my peace. Whatever comes my way, I can say, “It is well with my soul” because I trust You — You are my living hope.

Where would I be without You, Jesus? It is well

What a beautiful gift this is. Sometimes I struggle to be content in the difficult place, but then I remember what You endured for my sake. I remember that in my struggle, You are interceding for me and I am helped. I’ve learned that You understand my heart, so that even in those moments when overwhelm cannot be explained, You know. You see. You care. And the result? I can offer a heartfelt, “It is well with my soul” because You grant me Your peace.

Today’s struggles are but a moment compared with my hope of glory for all eternity … a moment! This, too, shall pass.

When my eyes are on You, when my thoughts are on those things that are good and noble and worthy of praise, I am kept in Your perfect peace. Your peace is wonderful. Your peace often makes no sense, and yet it is so real; it is tangible. Others see it. I know it, and I am amazed by Your faithfulness to sustain me.

Where would I be without You, Jesus?

Even in the darkest place, Your faithfulness remains; Your goodness is with me always. Indeed, where would I be without You, Jesus? I can’t even imagine — I don’t want to imagine my life without You. You are my everything.

Where would I be without You, Jesus? It is well

Thank You, Lord. I am kept in Your love.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen ~ let it be so
