A Time For Every Purpose … Help Me Wait, Lord
Lord, You are sovereign — You have taught me this beautiful truth through severe circumstances. I can rest in this knowledge. I can rest, knowing there is a time for every purpose under heaven.
Nothing is by happenstance.
When Notes of Endurance Sing a Song of Peace
The brook babbled with a soulful melody in the shade of an old chestnut tree. Cascading across mountain stones, notes of endurance sang out a song of peace. The water seemed alive with perseverance and strength — tenacity — as it carried a timeless breath of life across the mountain hollar.
I thought of the Lord as I sat on the carpet of moss along the brook’s edge.
Help Me Press On with Patient Endurance, Lord
Lord, great is Your faithfulness. Your mercies are new every morning — available, given freely with abundance. This I know. This I believe. Help me hold fast to this promise so that I might press on with patient endurance.
The fires of trial have been fierce lately. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You promise to deliver us out of them all.
What Love is This Lord, that You Call Me Your Child?
Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth! You are sovereign, Maker of heaven and earth. You are bathed in pure light, Your glory fills heaven and earth. What love is this, Lord, that You should call me Your child?
I am so undeserving, so insignificant in the whole scheme of things, and yet You call me Your daughter — daughter of the King.
Prince of Peace, Will You Give Me Peace Anew?
Lord, You are the God of all comfort, my refuge in the difficult place. You are Wonderful, Counselor … the Prince of Peace. Oh, how I need Your peace. Will You steady my heart?
Your love is so much stronger than whatever troubles me. I need You like I never have before, yet … I’m thankful because I know You like never before.
This I Recall, Lord, Therefore I Have Hope
Lord, Your steadfast love never ceases to amaze me. Even on the messiest, hardest days, You remain, therefore I have hope. Great is Your faithfulness to me.
When I sit still long enough to consider Your presence in my life, I remember how time and time again You made a way for me, or how You comforted me with heartfelt love …
Give Thanks, Even If Circumstances Say Otherwise
I am so very thankful for each of you, my readers. I want you to know that you are the Beloved of God, the apple of His eye … His special treasure. Even if circumstances say otherwise, give thanks for who He is. Trust His heart. Allow Him to gently lift your chin and tilt your head so that you might look up and behold His glory.
In the light of His presence, the darkness must flee.
In the light of His presence, our difficult places grow smaller because of His greatness.
