You Never Slumber Nor Sleep
Lord, Your eyes roam across the earth seeking those who love You, who need to be strengthened. You never slumber, nor sleep. Please find me in my distress and set Your gaze upon me.
You know those who belong to You. You search my heart and know my anxious thoughts. You know those things that trouble me — indeed, even those things that delight my soul.
You know and You care.
You see …
Set Your gaze upon me, Lord, and I will be helped.
You are an on-time God. Your eternal perspective comforts me because I realize You know all things — the beginning and the end. You know the hearts of man. You know what’s coming around the corner, and I don’t.
Therefore, I trust You to open divine doors and close those that would create havoc. I trust You to direct my steps with Your gaze upon me. I trust You to lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your Name’s sake as I cling to You.
You are too good to be unkind, too wise to make a mistake. I know I can trust Your heart because Your heart is turned towards me — I am the apple of Your eye, Your daughter. And Your eye is upon me.
When You Set Your Gaze Upon Me, I am Helped
How excellent is Your Name in all the earth! When I consider the works of Your hands, and the moon and the stars You set in place, who am I that You would be mindful of me? Thank You for loving me so beautifully. Thank You for pursuing me in my difficult places to bring me comfort, protection, and guidance.
I will sing praise to the Lord Most High!
