Take hope in the knowledge that you are cherished by the One who made you—you are sheltered in the shadow of His wing, close to His heart. It is my prayer that as we get to know one another you, too, will see beyond the veil and will learn to say, “Even so, I walk in the Presence of the Lord”
With joy,
Nan
Advent Prayer ~ Steady My Heart, Lord
Lord, show me Your truths. I want to know You in Your fullness — all that You are. I want to walk in the light of Your glory all the days of my life — to behold Your beauty, to recognize Your majesty, to know Your touch. I want my heart to be a welcoming dwelling place for you.
Steady my heart, Lord.
I feel frenzied so often.
Finding God’s Presence ~ Preparing For the Season of Christ
Shining the Light of Christ into shadows that hide rock-hard places of my heart can be painful, but necessary, as I long to yield to Him and make Him my Lord.
The Lord is calling to me as deep calls unto deep. He is calling me to dig deeper this Christmas season — to behold the miracle of His birth and to walk in the beauty of His holiness, the mercy of His grace. He is asking me to focus on HIM.
Do you hear His delicate whisper too?

Faith Notes ~ Sam Evans: Cerebral Palsy, Lung Cancer, and Jesus
I seriously love this woman named Sam Evans. I don’t know her. We have barely developed an online friendship, but I love her. She is full of spunk. Love. And faithfulness to her Lord. Her childhood was difficult enough due to cerebral palsy, but now, just in the past few weeks, she has learned that her young and precious husband has been diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer. And yet she praises God. She trusts Him. She crawls desperately into His presence and dwells there. Thank you Sam. Thank you for your authentic, raw, and messy faith. You are a blessing.
Finding God’s Presence at Thanksgiving
I am so very thankful for each of you, my readers. I want you to know that you are the Beloved of God, and you are loved by me also. How can I ever thank you enough for your support, encouragement, prayers, and faithfulness to me? I think it is impossible, but I trust the Lord will impart my gratitude to you.
Find God’s Presence ~ Fire-Lit Skies and Sacred Ashes
The ladies walked in silence through the doors and circled the fire. All was quiet on this mountaintop — all except the delicate whisper of the Holy Spirit deep within each of us. As we prepared our hearts to let go and trust God with the desires of our hearts, each lady in her own time dropped the folded paper into the hungry flames.
Finding God’s Presence ~ A Prayer When You Need a Shield
Lord, my heart is flowing with gratitude for Your love, Your faithfulness, and Your grace ... Your amazing grace. It really is sufficient, meeting the needs of our hearts, calming the fearful minds, and strengthening weary bodies. You are a shield about me protecting...

Finding God’s Presence ~ And Still I Stand
The windswept branches snaked around the body of the tree, curling, grasping. Weather-beaten, the tree defied all odds. It stood its ground. Roots dug deep, clinching their fists into the rocky soil of the mountain ridge, challenging the gale-force winds in battle after battle.
And stood it did.
