“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’” ~ Matthew 11:28-30, NLT
“And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” ~ Revelation 22:17, NKJV
“then the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, ‘Here I am!’” ~ 1 Samuel 3:3, NKJV
I’m Coming Lord … Soon.
Lord, I hear You calling my name. I hear You saying, “Come to Me.” But sadly, You often hear me say, “I’m coming Lord … but give me just a minute, okay? I need to finish this first.”
Oh, Lord, please forgive me. How in the world can I put You — the Creator of the Universe — on hold? And how many times have I done this without considering the impact of my choice?

How many times will I say, “I’m coming Lord,” and then get wrapped up in the world and selfish ambitions, while I put You on a shelf?
How foolish of me to miss a divine appointment, to miss the wisdom of Your instruction, the beauty of Your comfort.
I am profoundly sorry. You are my God. And yet I ask You to wait while I finish what I’m doing. Oy!
The things I want to do, I don’t do and the things I don’t want to do, I do. The battle of flesh and spirit is real … and it is strong. But I want You to be my first love — to be completely yielded to Your lordship.
When I hear Your delicate whisper bidding me to come to You, I want to joyfully proclaim, “I’m coming, Lord!”
Help me overcome the distraction. Open my eyes to see them as they are — a strategy of the enemy to keep me from You. Because when I recognize the hand of the enemy, my feathers get ruffled, I am strengthened to resist, and my spirit rises in obedience to Your voice.
Thank You for showing me where I am falling short.
Thank You for Persistently Calling My Name
You are my Beloved, and I am Yours. To be in Your presence is the greatest joy of my life. Thank You for pursuing me with Your love. Thank You for Your persistence in calling my name.
In the Name of Jesus I pray,
Amen — let it be so
