You Have Been With Me Through it All
Lord, You have carried me safe thus far. Through the wind, through the rain, through the fire, and through the turbulent waters, You have been with me. Jesus, You’re my hope. Fix my eyes on You.
Thank You for being my sure place. Thank You for being the One on whom I can depend. When life is hard, I know I am not alone.
My eyes tend to wander and focus on the problem. My thoughts race to join the fixation and before I know it I am consumed with worry. My flesh wants to control the circumstances, but You have a better way for me, Lord — Your way.
Your peace doesn’t come from the world. Your ways are not our ways, nor are Your thoughts our thoughts. You want us to walk by faith, not sight, trusting in You alone.
But that requires a choice — do I follow Your instructions or do I become stiff-necked in working it out by myself.
Please forgive me when I look away from You and only see my problem. I know in my knower, Jesus, You’re my hope. I know You are my very present help in trouble. Your love has never failed me, Your mercies are new every morning. Nothing is too hard for You.
I know this. I believe this. And yet there are days I struggle under the weight of my burdens.
Strengthen my resolve to turn to You immediately when trouble comes my way. Lift my chin so I might look up and behold Your glory — Your light that overcomes the darkness. You are my heart’s desire. Jesus, You’re my hope. No one else compares to You, No one else can put the pieces of my life’s puzzle together as beautifully as You.
Jesus, You’re My Hope
Thank You for Your faithfulness to me. Thank You for Your longsuffering with my stubbornness, and thank You for drawing near to me in my distress. I love You, Lord. I give You praise.
