“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
‘May those who love you be secure.
May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels.’”~ Psalm 122:6-7, NIV
“Because I love Zion,
I will not keep still.
Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem,
I cannot remain silent.
I will not stop praying for her
until her righteousness shines like the dawn,
and her salvation blazes like a burning torch.
The nations will see your righteousness.
World leaders will be blinded by your glory.
And you will be given a new name
by the Lord’s own mouth.” ~ Isaiah 62:1-2, NLT
“Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see.
For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you.
Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth,
but the glory of the Lord rises and appears over you.
All nations will come to your light;
mighty kings will come to see your radiance.” ~ Isaiah 60:1-3, NLT
Jerusalem, the City of the Living God
Father, as a believer in Jesus, my heart longs for Jerusalem, the city of the Living God. My heart aches for Your people, Israel. I will not keep silent, and I will not stop praying for the peace of Jerusalem. Surround her as a shield and deliver her from the fowler’s snare.
You, who keep Israel, neither slumber nor sleep. Remind Your precious people of this. Remind them that Your watchful eye is upon them. Arise, O God, and let your enemies be scattered, for You are mighty in power! Bring swift victory and restore this holy land.
You are Truth and therefore, You always reveal Truth. Many deceptive lies surround Your people in these days — lies that create danger. Lies that stir up hatred and violence. But You are greater. Quiet the lying tongues. Use me to speak truth in love. Bring conviction to those who wish harm on our Jewish brothers and sisters.
Thank You for Your angel armies encamped round about Jerusalem. In my mind’s eye, I can see them glowing with the holy fire of God, standing on the ready, waiting for Your word. As I pray for the peace of Jerusalem, I ask that You open the eyes of the people to see Your chariots of fire encircling the holy city along the mountain ridges. Just like Elijah and his servant boy, help them see with spiritual eyes and remember that You are their God, and they are Your people.
They are safe in Your arms.
As I pray for the peace of Jerusalem, I’m reminded that Your covenant remains, Your love is steadfast. I am grafted into the same covenant because of Jesus — what happens to Israel, happens to me, as well. I am honored to be a watchman on the wall to help guard and protect her. I am honored to be a daughter of Abraham, a daughter of the Living God.
I Will Always Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
Strengthen and encourage these, Your people. Let not their hearts be troubled nor afraid, for You are the One who fights for Israel, You are the One who defends Jerusalem. Let no weapon formed against her prosper. As I pray for Jerusalem, bring to mind those details I’m not aware of, those needs of the heart that need to be fortified so I may pray more effectively.
Comfort those who mourn in Zion and bring the captives home. Let them experience Your amazing love in fresh ways, finding it personal and intuitive, finding it calming and filled with grace. I’m available to help as You desire.
In Jesus’s Name, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so

Sweet blessings to you,
Nan, I just love this! You speak the truth, and I thank you for that! You wrote this so beautifully! I want to read it every day. The Bible tells us we are to stand with Israel at all costs! Those who bless Her will also be blessed. But those who curse Her will be cursed. I love God’s chosen people! It breaks my heart that America is turning its back on Israel. OH how dangerous this is! Our nation is already experiencing God’s wrath. However, this pales in comparison to the wrath still to come.
I appreciate you, Nan! God is using you in mighty ways! Thank you for your obedience to Him!
Sincerely,
Jodi
Thank you, Jodi. I agree with you completely. I’ve asked the Lord to help me speak His truth in love. You kind words have encouraged me. Sweet blessings to you, Nan
