“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7, NLT
“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8, NLT
“Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior]. For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].” ~ Hebrews 4:14-16, AMP
God, You Are Sovereign
Father, everywhere I look I see shadows of evil, the handiwork of the rulers and principalities of darkness. I have not seen this level of evil in all of my days. I’m thankful my faith is rooted, reaching deep into Your streams of living water.
I must hold fast in the storm. Please help me, Lord.
I think of Your sovereignty, Your authority over all the earth and I am comforted. It is You who govern the entire world. I fully believe that You are omnipotent — all-powerful; omniscient — all-knowing; and omnipresent — present in every place and time. None compares to You, Lord.
I cannot fathom the magnitude of who You are, yet I have experienced Your love intimately, and I have encountered Your power. I have no doubt You are who You say You are and You do what You say You will do.

My faith is rooted and strong. I will cling to You. l I will hold fast as You help me and I will not be tossed to and fro by high-pitched emotions and taunts of the enemy.
Rise up, O God, and scatter Your enemies. Lord of hosts, send out Your angel armies to do Your bidding, to restore order and righteousness to this earth.
It seems the wicked are prospering, but when I get frustrated, I remember that the wicked will receive their just reward … in Your way and in Your time.
As Your child, help me hold fast during this confusing, ridiculous time. As Your people, call us to repentance for losing our first love, for sitting idle as Your truths have been chipped away and made a mockery. Please forgive us where we have failed You and restore righteousness to Your people first, so that we might join hands with You in the beauty of Your holiness. So that, with pure hearts, we might live as Christ-bearers in this fallen world.
My Faith is Rooted and Strong
Even though my faith is rooted and my foundation is firm, I must still be intentional about holding fast to You. As I grip Your hand, I ask that You hold me fast too, just as You promised. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength — even walk boldly into the storm that has beseiged our nation and world.
Greater are You, Lord, in me, than he that is in this world. Blessed be Your Holy Name! Be exalted, O God, above all the earth.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so
