Awaken our hearts, Lord, to love You more.

Awaken our hearts, Lord, to love You more.

Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you. ~ Isaiah 60:1-2

Lord, awaken my soul to love You with all of my heart, all of my mind, and all of my strength. Fill me with Your light that diffuses the darkness lurking in far corners waiting to overtake me — those thoughts traveling on the fiery darts of the enemy. In Your light I find peace.

When my mind is stayed on You, I find peace.

Thank You for Your peace — not as the world gives, but peace that passes all understanding that only You can give. Pure and holy peace. Sacred, flowing from Your hand.

Lord, Your children are hurting — the world is hurting and stands in need of a Savior. You’ve done Your part. You provided the perfect Lamb, Savior of the World to reconcile us to You. Help us do our part!

We must take up our arms and work hard for the Kingdom of God. We must be willing to go and speak Your Word, to go and proclaim Christ, to go and wrap our arms around the hurting and lost, and tell them our redemption stories.

Give us courage Lord. Fill us with purpose and intention of heart. Stir up an awareness of those around us, to look outside of our own painful places and see theirs.

Thank You for Your abiding presence that gives us comfort and security. This world seems to be overwhelmed with evil more and more with each passing day, but Your light — Your Light overcomes the darkness. Let Your light so shine out from us that the glory of the Lord is revealed to all those we encounter.

Help us love like You, Jesus.

Help us be Your hands and feet, to put aside all selfish thoughts and to just be. Be available. Be willing.

We go in Your strength, with Your vision. Awaken our hearts to see into the hearts of others, granting us discernment to see and know. Give us Your wisdom to lead them out of their darkness into Your marvelous light.

You are mighty. You are wonderful, Counselor, Prince of Peace. You are the only True God, Maker of Heaven and Earth.

You are our God, and we belong to You. Blessed be Your Name.

We love You Lord, and we give You praise.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen

Have you read Faith Notes ~ Callie Daruk: Sometimes God Gives Us More Than We Can Handle. Yes … Really! ?

In a cluster of new friends on Twitter, this little light was shining. Her name is Callie Daruk. Seven years ago, Callie found herself face-to-face with the reality that her 32 years of professing Christ was merely lip service — that she knew about Jesus, but she did not know Him. What an eye-opener! How many others have come to the same realization?

Callie discovered this during an excruciatingly painful time in the life of her family. She discovered that sometimes God will give us more than we can handle, simply to help us realize that we can’t handle it without Him.

When I asked Callie if she would share her story on Faith Notes, this is how she responded: “Well hi there sweet Nan. Thank you so much for taking time to read my blog and for your sensitivity to follow the Holy Spirit. Yes, hon, oh boy, did Christ ever find me in a time of darkness. I am seven years on the other side and I am still as hungry for him as the day I was at the end of my rope. I would be delighted to allow God’s goodness to flow, for truly it is really His story and one He’s simply allowed me to be a part of.”

She had my heart at “Well hi there sweet Nan…” I know you will be touched by Callie’s beautiful story of redemption.
