By faith, we cast our cares on Him.
“… casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” ~ 1 Peter 5:7
Lord, Your goodness and grace sustain me. Your faithfulness undergirds me and fills me with the courage to face each day — peace to rise above what this world throws my way.
Teach me to really cast my cares on You because they are too great for me to carry.
Through Your Word, remind me who You are: my Way-Maker, Miracle-Worker, my Provider, and Protector. You are my Peace, my Strong-Tower, my Refuge, and Redeemer. You are my God and You are for me, not against me.
Bless Your Holy Name.
I pray for those who, like me, find themselves distracted by the cares of their world — burdens, anxieties, and worries — those things that choke the knowledge and remembrance of Your Word being active in our lives.
Your Word is a lamp to our feet. You speak to us through Your Word. You reveal Yourself through Your Word. In Your Word, we are reminded who we are to You.
Cast your cares on Him.
But when our focus is on our cares, we forget those things. We begin walking in our own strength according to our own word and then the anxieties and distractions take over, choking out Your Word in our hearts and minds.
Forgive us, Lord. Forgive us for thinking we know best. Forgive us for holding onto things that You have clearly told us to let go of. Show us — help us — learn how to give You these things as an offering of trust to You, our good, good Father.
For You deserve our trust and our praise.
You are who You say You are. Awaken our hearts to know and understand this. Pry open our hands that clutch those things — those cares — we’re not willing to let go of and give them to You.
We are to walk by faith and not by sight … by faith. That is what we choose, Lord. By faith, we cast our cares on You, our Burden-Bearer and trust You to work everything together for our good.
We love You, Lord. You are absolutely amazing.
