It’s nice to smile, even when life is hard.
Lord, Your love surrounds me. I love this remarkable truth. Thank You. Your abiding presence makes my heart smile. Even when I feel distressed, I can smile at the thought of being completely and securely surrounded by Your love.
Some days the burdens are great and fear pounds at the door, but then I think of Your great love and I find peace again.
Help others to recognize Your presence too, especially when they are in distress. We need only open the eyes of our hearts and You will reveal Yourself to us. When we seek You, we will find You. When we call to You, You respond. You are near to Your children, especially when we struggle. Thank You for Your promises — You astound me.
Stir up a hunger within each of us — a hunger to know You, to serve You, to bring others to Your saving grace. Cause us to thirst for Your righteousness and to drink fully from Your river of Living Water so that our hearts will continue to smile. You alone satisfy the longing soul.
Lord, You are our hope. Our peace. Our joy. We exalt You, Lord and lift high Your Name.
