“They will come and sing aloud and shout for joy on the height of Zion,
And will be radiant [with joy] over the goodness of the Lord—
For the grain, for the new wine, for the oil,
And for the young of the flock and the herd.
And their life will be like a watered garden,
And they shall never sorrow or languish again.

“Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,
And the young men and old, together,
For I will turn their mourning into joy
And will comfort them and make them rejoice after their sorrow.

“I will fully satisfy the soul of the priests with abundance,
And My people will be satisfied with My goodness,” says the Lord. ~ Jeremiah 31:12-14
Where Is God When Sorrow Seeks to Consume Me?
Lord, It’s been a hard couple of days, for many of us it’s been a difficult season of life. But You remain. Your love is steadfast. Though sorrow seeks to consume me, You are my joy.
Your joy flows deep within me because of Your Holy Spirit. Your joy, like Your peace, is not contingent on my circumstances. Your joy is a fruit and confirmation of Your Spirit within me. The miracle of Your joy in my difficult circumstances does not go unnoticed.
I am grateful, Lord.
As I call out to you in my sorrow, I sense You drawing near to comfort me. Preserve my tears in Your bottle, Lord — I know they are precious to You. When I weep, I believe You weep also because You know I’m hurting. That knowledge is too wonderful for words.
Thank You for Your tender watch-care. Your eyes roam to and fro across the earth seeking those who love You, those who need to be strengthened. When sorrow seeks to consume me, I am strengthened by the knowledge that You see me and You know.
Your love is amazing and will never fail me. Though sorrow is present, You are my joy, my strength, and my peace. I will rejoice in You.
You Are My Joy, Lord
Hide me beneath the shadow of your wings until these calamities pass me by. I know You are with me. I know You love me. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so
