You heard my cry, “Help me, Lord”
Lord, in the stillness, in the quiet, I hear Your delicate whispers. I sense Your presence as deep calls to deep — the depth of my pain calls out to the depth of Your love, and I am helped.
Often, I don’t need words because I don’t have words. Tears become my prayer. You search my heart and know my anxious thoughts. You wrap me in Your grace and quiet me with Your love. You offer me lovingkindness in the daytime, and at night You are my song. Mercy meets me in the difficult place and I remember that I am not alone.
I cannot express my gratitude adequately — I am often overcome with thankfulness, knowing that You are with me is beyond wonderful. There is no shadow of turning with You — Your love is everlasting. When I picture Your billows of grace washing over me as my deep calls to deep, my hope is restored.
For You are close to the broken and weary. Carry me, Lord … I need to be carried near Your heart like You promised.
When deep calls to deep You draw near
Let me hear You whisper my name, reminding me how close You are. Your presence gives me courage to face uncertain days. In the stillness, in the quiet I remember that You are God … You are my God.
