Lord, You are the Holy One, the Almighty God, who sanctifies us that we might worship You in spirit and truth. You are the God that draws us to Yourself and pursues us with Your love. You have called us to be holy, just as You are holy, not in and of ourselves, but through the precious blood of Jesus — the Lord our Righteousness.
I want my life to be set apart for You. I want my lips to speak of Your Truth and to praise You always, regardless of my circumstances. I want others to see You in me.
Lord, I know many others who feel the same way. We want you to be Lord, not just Savior. We want to please You, to honor You, to seek You and Your kingdom first — to lay down the idols in our lives that take our attention away from loving You.
But then life happens and it becomes hard to be holy as You are holy and we fail You miserably Lord. Please forgive us. Please help us realize this “becoming holy as You are holy” is a journey, a process … a hard fought battle between flesh and spirit.
But in You, there is victory.
It’s hard Lord, but Your grace really is sufficient when we choose to drink from Your well. Help us keep You ever before us for You are the Holy One who will lead us into holiness. Teach us to love You with all of our hearts, our souls, our minds, and our strength. You are our all in all and we love You dearly.
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen

Congratulations to Lisa Britt, my blog subscriber who won an autographed copy of The Perils of a Pastor’s Wife. Whoot! Whoot! Lisa, I’m so happy for you.
“Lord, I know many others who feel the same way. We want you to be Lord, not just Savior. We want to please You, to honor You, to seek You and Your kingdom first — to lay down the idols in our lives that take our attention away from loving You.” Yes and amen.
The struggle is real and shared by many. The Lord looks on your heart Marcie girl and He sees the reflection of Himself 🙂
