You are my sure place. Great is Your faithfulness to me
Father, You are my firm foundation, the Rock on which I stand. When everything around me is sinking sand, You are my sure place. You remain. Great is Your faithfulness to me, O Lord … yes, great is Your faithfulness.
Over the years, You have proven Yourself to me. Time and time again You have made Yourself known to my seeking heart. You incine Your ear to me and hear my cries. I picture You bending Your knee to press in close so my whispered overwhelm can be heard.
And then You respond.
In Your way, in Your time, You meet the needs of my heart because great is Your faithfulness. Your steadfast love has never failed me … and never will. There is no one else like You in all the earth.
Your people are hurting, Lord. Across this land, there is an assortment of suffering: hurricanes, historic floods, violence, corruption. Despair is heavy on shrugged shoulders. Hope is fighting to withstand. And yet — yet, You are in our midst. Your goodness and mercy follow hard after us. I’m comforted to know that You weep when we weep, You rejoice when we rejoice — You are a wonderful Father and an amazing God.
Your faithfulness reaches to the highest heaven.
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the hearts of man the things which You have prepared for those who love You. Help us stand on the truth of this promise in these difficult days. Hold us fast in the grip of Your hand, so tight that we sense Your touch and all fear leaves.
Give us endurance to trust Your faithfulness and rest in Your love
You are our living hope — today, tomorrow, and in the days to come. Strengthen us to walk by faith and not by sight. Strengthen us to endure with perseverance as we wait on You, trusting Your faithfulness, resting in Your love. Because of Your mercies, we are not consumed … they are new every morning. All that we need we have in You.
Great is Your faithfulness, O Lord to me. Hide me beneath the shadow of Your wing until these calamities pass me by.
