“O God, listen to my cry!
Hear my prayer!
From the ends of the earth,
I cry to You for help
when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering Rock of safety,
for You are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
Let me live forever in Your sanctuary,
safe beneath the shelter of Your wings!” ~ Psalm 61:1-4, NLT
“How great is the goodness
You have stored up for those who fear You.
You lavish it on those who come to You for protection,
blessing them before the watching world.
You hide them in the shelter of Your presence,
safe from those who conspire against them.
You shelter them in Your presence,
far from accusing tongues.
Love the Lord, all you godly ones!
For the Lord protects those who are loyal to Him,
but He harshly punishes the arrogant.
So be strong and courageous,
all you who put your hope in the Lord!” ~ Psalm 31:19-20, 23-24, NLT
“You are my hiding place; You, Lord, protect me from trouble;
You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah.” ~ Psalm 32:7, AMP
You hear my cry, and You call to me, Lord
Lord, I feel safe with You. When the world is spinning out of control, when flames of trial are lapping at my legs, I know I can run to You. You hear my cry, and You call to me, for You are my hiding place — this I know very well.

But I keep peeking out at the enemy’s ambush.
And when I do, I feel afraid.
I feel overwhelmed.
Why can I not simply rest beneath the shelter of Your wing while You hide me from Satan’s schemes? Why can’t I rest in Your presence and keep my eyes on You? It seems I have to be so nosy and see what the enemy is up to, rather than simply trusting You.
You, Lord, are my hiding place
When my eyes are on You, all fear is gone — I no longer am afraid. Your peace washes over me in ways that cannot be explained. You make me brave. You make me laugh with joy unspeakable. What a mighty God You are!
Truly, You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble. You are my song in the night and my shield against the flaming arrows. Thank You for Your faithfulness to me. Thank You for hearing my cry.

And thank You for Your patience as I impulsively peek out from Your shelter. You, Lord, are my hiding place … my refuge. There’s no other place I’d rather be. You are my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? I praise You, Lord, for You are the strength of my life.
I am secure in Your arms.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen — let it be so
