“‘Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?’ says the Lord; ‘Do I not FILL heaven and earth?’ says the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 23:24)
The Hebrew word used here for ‘fill’ is male` (mah-lay). It means to fulfill or to fill to the brim. It also means to saturate thoroughly.
The Lord is saying that the heavens and earth are saturated thoroughly with His Spirit. Isn’t that a beautiful image? His Spirit fills our world to overflowing!
Our God is everywhere, all the time. He sees all, He knows all. He is with us in the Light – He is with us in the dark. He will never leave us nor forsake us.
