I long for peace ... wonderful peace only You can give, Lord

Advent, Week 2: PEACE

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” ~ John 14:27, NLT

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in every way [that peace and spiritual well-being that comes to those who walk with Him, regardless of life’s circumstances]. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16, AMP

“The Lord bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you];
The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor],
And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness];
The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval],
And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].” ~ Numbers 6:24-26, AMP

I Need Tranquility in My Difficult Places

Father, I am so thankful for Your peace — Your wonderful peace that often makes no sense. Your peace isn’t the absence of chaos, but the sense of contentment, and tranquility in our difficult places.

Your peace is a gift … and I know it well. Why would I not take hold of it? Why would I listen to the lies of the enemy, or choose to focus on circumstances instead of You? Why would I allow anxious thoughts to rule my heart?

The things I do want to do … I don’t.

The things I don’t want to do … I do.

Jesus is Jehovah Shalom, the Lord my peace.

Please forgive me. I know better. I long for Your wonderful peace that passes all understanding. Turn my eyes toward You, awaken my heart to worship You, and cause Your peace to wash over me once again.

Hold me fast, Lord. Comfort me as only You can and quiet me with Your love. Wrangle my restless thoughts and bring them into submission to Your authority and the power of Your Word.

How can it be that You love me — that You love Your children so beautifully? How precious is Your love?

… how wonderful is Your peace.

You are the Lord of peace — You are my Beloved and I am Yours. You command Your lovingkindness in the daytime and in the night — in the night of my soul — Your song will be with me.

There is Nothing Like Your Wonderful Peace

Your song restores my peace every. single. time. Thank You, Lord. I worship You and I give You praise.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Please don’t carry your burdens alone. I would be honored to pray for you. You may contact me directly at nan@nanjones.com

Do you know someone who is experiencing great sorrow this Christmas? Are they in a crisis of faith because the unthinkable has happened? You want to bless them with a gift, but in your heart, you know they really don’t want things. They want their heart to be healed. They want hope. They want to live again.

That’s why I wrote The Offering: How to Emerge from Shattered Faith. The Offering takes the reader by the hand and allows her to ask the hard questions with raw emotions, and then gently leads her back into the arms of the One who loves her.

It’s available on Amazon for $12.99, but if you would like a personalized, autographed copy, it is $20 (to cover shipping) OR if you are local and can meet me, I charge $15. You may contact me at nan@nanjones.com
