I'm asking for wisdom Lord.

If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.” ~ James 1:5, AMP

“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.” ~ James 3:17, NLT

I’m Asking for Wisdom Lord in My Decision-Making

Lord, I place my trust in You, I stand on Your Word for it is True. I’m asking for wisdom Lord, but I can’t hear a thing. My ears seem to be clogged. Open my ears that I might hear You.

I'm asking for wisdom Lord in my decision-making

My desire is to obey You in all things, to walk steadily in Your will. You are not a god of confusion, but a God of peace. You guide me by Your peace, and You promise to give wisdom generously, when we ask You for it.

So Lord, I’m asking for wisdom in my decision-making. Help me see things from Your perspective, to trust what I don’t understand. Give me courage to walk by faith and not by sight.

Speak to me through Your Word, through Your delicate whispers deep within. Lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your Name’s sake. I ask that You give me confidence to believe I’ve heard You correctly; I ask that You would confirm my steps.

Your wisdom is pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Remind me to weigh my thoughts and decisions against these parameters.

I'm asking for wisdom Lord as I pray

Lord, I know Your wisdom is more precious than rubies and gold. If I’m honest, I know that Your wisdom will usually cost something because gaining Your wisdom in situations often leads to heart changes, many of which require sacrifice. Your wisdom appears foolish to the world and confounds the wise.

But I’m willing to count the cost if that means I’m obeying You and staying within Your perfect will. There’s no place I’d rather be.

Maybe this is why I haven’t been able to hear You clearly as You’ve tried to give me Your wisdom. Maybe my flesh doesn’t want to count the cost. Maybe that’s why I can’t hear a thing. Forgive me, Lord. Create in me a clean heart and strengthen me to do Your will. Pour out Your grace in the difficult places of decision.

When We Ask God for Wisdom, He Gives Generously

You are my God and I am Your daughter. I love You with all of my heart. As I’m asking for wisdom Lord, I know You will empower me by Your Spirit to hear Your voice, to glean wisdom from You, and to obey Your call.

Thank You, Lord. You are beyond amazing to me.

In the Name of Jesus I pray,

Amen — let it be so
