In the fiery furnace, find your reflection in me

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.’” ~ Daniel 3:16-18, NKJV

“Indeed, I have refined you, but not as silver;
I have tested and chosen you in the furnace of affliction.” ~ Isaiah 48:10, AMP

“I know how great this makes you feel, even though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation in the meantime. Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of His victory.” ~ 1 Peter 1:6-7, MSG

“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
    I have called you by name; you are Mine.
When you go through deep waters,
    I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
    you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
    you will not be burned up;
    the flames will not consume you.
For I am the Lord, your God,
    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” ~ Isaiah 43:1-3, NLT

The Hotter the Flames in the Fiery Furnace, the Closer You Draw to Me, Lord

Father, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You promise to deliver us out of them all. You walk with us in the fiery furnace of adversity. You carry us through the storms … all because of Your great love for Your children.

Teach me to keep my eyes on You, for it is in that place of trust that I am strengthened to endure. You uphold me with Your righteous right hand. I can sense Your touch gripping my hand in Yours — when my eyes are fixed on You. The harder the trial, the hotter the flames in the fiery furnace. The hotter the flames, the closer You draw to me.

The harder the trial, the hotter the flame in the fiery furnace of adversity

You desire to strengthen me. You desire to shield me. And You desire that I become more like Jesus, that I become holy as You are holy because in holiness is where I will dwell with You for all of eternity. Therefore, there is purpose in the pain. I find You in the fire, Lord! I learn who You are and how much You love me.

We live in a fallen world where bad things happen to good people. You warned us that in this world we would have tribulation and crushing pain, but You, O Lord, would walk every step with us, protecting us, refining us, sharing Your heart with ours. Open my eyes to see You with me. Open my ears to hear Your delicate whispers affirming and encouraging me when the heat from the fiery furnace begins to overtake me.

find me faithful, O Lord

You will never leave me alone, nor will You forsake me in my time of need. I will find You faithful. Oh, how I pray You will find me faithful also. I want to represent You well, to carry Your light boldly into the darkened corners of this world. People are watching Your children in these difficult times. They are watching, and many are longing for us to tell them about You because they need hope and courage in these evil days.

In the Fiery Furnace of Trial is Where I Learn Who You Are, Lord

People need Jesus, not religion. In the fiery furnace of trial is where I learn who You are so I can tell them. Help me embrace the difficult places, knowing I will find You there. Thank You, Lord. I bless Your Holy Name.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen ~ let it be so
