“The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.” ~ Proverbs 28:1, NKJV
“But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.]” ~ 1 Peter 5:9, AMP
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” Ephesians 6:10-13, NLT
I Sure Could Use Some Fortification
Father, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You promise to deliver us out of them all. And You will. But as I wait and the enemy continues to pummel me, I ask that You make me bold as a lion to withstand him.
I won’t surrender. I won’t give in, but I sure could use some fortification. I am weary from the battle and I feel vulnerable to the attacks.

But I won’t retreat. I will stand firm, bold as a lion until I see my victory. Make me strong to resist the evil one, steadfast in the faith, and confident in who I am — Your child.
Lord, I will clothe myself in Your armor: salvation, righteousness, truth, peace, and faith. And above all else, I will pray hard. I commit to putting on Your full armor daily so I may stand firm against the evil one. Please forgive me for being complacent toward this instruction. By being complacent, I have set myself up for defeat, but You, Lord, have given me the victory.
I Will Stand Firm and Be Bold as a Lion
Help me be bold as a lion so that I may walk in Your ways, unwavering, sure-footed … eyes on You. I will not be dismayed or discouraged because You, Lord, are with me every moment of every day. Bless You, Lord.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so
