You are my shelter, Jesus
Lord, You shine forth Your light, and the darkness cannot overcome it. Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the majestic mountains and Your judgments are a great deep — my soul finds shelter in You.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore I place my trust under the shadow of Your wings. Your steadfast, covenant love sustains me. You preserve me, Lord … You are the Keeper of my soul.
I need You more than ever. The enemy is relentless in His pursuit as he whispers his lies and casts his flaming arrows to steal my peace. He has no power over my spirit, for I am sealed in Your Holy Spirit; my soul finds its shelter in You. But my mind … the evil one takes advantage of his access to my thoughts.
Strengthen me, Lord. Empower me to bring my thoughts captive to You and surrender them to Your lordship. I have been given the mind of Christ. Help me walk in Your truths as You lead me in paths of righteousness. I sure could use the green pasture and still waters that You’ve promised.
My heart and my soul long for You
Just to be with You is my heart’s desire, for with You is the fountain of life; in Your light I see light, for in the light of Your presence my hope is restored, I find strength, and my soul is at rest as I shelter in Your presence, and Your light overcomes the darkness.
Thank You for allowing me to feel the grip of Your hand in mine as You lead me forth. The valley is deep, but Your love is deeper still. Thank You, Lord. No one compares to You. I’m so thankful to be Your child.
