When I follow closely, I recognize the God of Peace with me.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ~ Hebrews 4:12, NKJV

Lord, I long to follow You closely — You. My Master, my Savior, my Lord. Place my feet in Your footsteps.

You, Lord, are my everything — the One I desire. You are my sustenance — my Bread of Life. You are my Light in the darkness — my Morning Star. My courage in fear, my hope in despair.

My Peace.

You really are, Lord. You are my peace.

So why do I feel so confused?

You are not a god of confusion. You are a God of Peace — MY God of Peace.

I place my trust in You.

God of Peace, steady my heart through the renewing of my mind.

Lord, I ask that you bring my thoughts captive to You. I desire to submit them to Your authority, to Your scrutiny. I willingly cast down all imaginations that do not reflect Your grace, Your mercy, Your wisdom, and discernment.

Steady my heart through the renewing of my mind which comes through the truth of Your Word. It is a lamp unto my feet, a sword that divides soul desires from spirit desires.

Your Word is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Have Your way in me, Lord.

I ask that You give me Your assurance as I step out in faith, for You are my God of Peace.

Lead me on Your narrow way with sure footing. Open my ears that I might hear Your instructions, Your desires, Your will for me.

I so desire to obey You in all things. I ask that You give me Your assurance as I step out in faith.

I ask that You open doors that no man can shut, and I ask that You close doors that I have no business walking through, even if it looks good, enticing … even if it appears to be clothed in godliness.

Give me the discernment to know the difference — to choose You above all things.

You are my highest calling, Lord. To love You with all my heart, and soul, and mind, and strength is my heart’s desire.

I love You, Lord.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen
