Guard My Heart, Lord, Against the Philosophies of Men

Father, You are wisdom. You are truth. Truth is absolute — it cannot be swayed by the opinions of men — if it can be swayed, it isn’t truth. Guard my heart to walk in Your truth at all times.

Deception is rampant in this world — men and women have been given over to depraved minds because they have denied You. Or, in many cases, have tried to make You what they want You to be instead of standing on the truth of Your holiness and majestic sovereignty over all the earth.

Father, You have promised Your presence will go with me. You have encouraged me, “Be not afraid, neither be dismayed for I, the Lord your God am with you wherever you go.” I trust You to walk with me through these evil days.

Oh, what joy this brings my heart. To know I don’t need to face my tomorrows alone is more beautiful than words can describe. To know Your hand grips mine makes me brave.

How Long, O God, Before the Coming of the Lord?

Father, You are who You say You are; You do what You say You will do. You are sovereign. You are mighty. You promised Jesus will return for us — how much longer must we wait for the coming of the Lord?

I cannot believe the evil that has been unleashed across the world — the corruption, the deception … the violence, and hatred. Surely it grieves You, too, for this is Your creation. How sad.

Father, I am so thankful for the knowledge of Your sovereignty — Your full authority over all the earth. It seems this world is spinning out of control. Evil grows and threatens, blurring the lines of right and wrong. Light of the world, permeate our darkness. Shine Your glorious light.

I ask that You give Your people discernment in this hour so that we will not enter into the chaos. Man is calling evil good and good evil. Deception is rampant … and subtle. So subtle.

Father, though the earth trembles and mountains slip into the sea, I will not fear, for You are with me. Though there are wars and rumors of wars, I will not be afraid. When my heart is overwhelmed, I will run to You, for You are my Rock.

You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.
