Be not afraid, You say. I need Your help, Lord

“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10, NKJV

“I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me.
    He freed me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy;
    no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” ~ Psalm 34:4-5, NLT

“But when I am afraid,
    I will put my trust in You.
I praise God for what He has promised.
    I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
    What can mere mortals do to me?” ~ Psalm 56:3-4, NLT

“You drew near on the day I called on You,
And said, ‘Do not fear!'” ~ Lamentations 3:57, NKJV

Lord, I’m Struggling to Be Not Afraid

Father, You are high and lifted up, seated on the throne. You rule heaven and earth in power and majesty, and You tell me, “Be not afraid.” In many ways, I’m struggling with this. My spirit is strong and typically fearless. But my flesh … oy! My flesh tends to get caught up in the matters of this world and forget there is a heavenly perspective.

Would you lift my chin and tilt my head back so I might look up and behold Your glory? When my eyes are on You, I am strong and courageous. When my eyes are on You, things of this earth lose their power over me and I remember who I am … I am Your daughter. I am loved with an everlasting love that is deeper than all understanding.

 Lord, I'm struggling to be not afraid

Nothing can separate me from Your love. Nothing can pull me from Your shelter — Your grip on me is strong. Greater are You in me than he that is in the world. I breathe in the strength to endure when I think on these things.

I believe it’s the uncertainty of the days in which we live that are so frightening. I know I’m not alone in this, Lord. You know that, too. You search the hearts of Your people and know all of our anxious thoughts. And You tell us to bring our thoughts captive to You, to cast down all imaginations … to walk by faith and not by sight.

For You are with us wherever we go. You are a very present help in times of trouble. You hold the whole world in Your hands beneath Your watchful eye. The enemy thinks he has power, but it is You, Lord, that is the Sovereign Lord over all the earth. He can only go so far before You will hurl him into the dark abyss for all of eternity and You will make all things new.

Child, be not afraid for I am with you

“Be not afraid” resounds in my ears and wants to settle in my heart. Strengthen me to persevere through these present troubles and be not afraid as I walk in the knowledge that I am not alone. I trust in You, Lord, so why should I be afraid? You are a shield about me. You are my light and my salvation, my refuge, and strong tower. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but one of love, power, and a sound mind! This truth I will walk in. This truth will carry me through uncertain days and difficult tomorrows.

Child, Be Not Afraid for I Am With You

I know in my overwhelm You will draw near to comfort me, You will whisper in my ear, Child, be not afraid for I am with You and I will carry you safely through the flames of adversity. Trust Me. Listen for My instructions and I will guide You safely home.

I will praise You, Lord, all the days of my life. I will worship You in the beauty of Your holiness for You are the Great God, worthy of all praise. You are my good Father, the soon and coming King. Bless You, Lord.

In Jesus’s Name, I pray,

Amen
