Merry Christmas!`
Christmas. Miracle of miracles.
Can we fathom the wonder of His love? Can we grasp the magnitude of Who this baby lying in a manger was? God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, Jesus, that we might know Him, and love Him, and understand the essence of who He is. God sent His Son with the hope that we would believe in Him and dwell with Him throughout all eternity.
Amazing.
Consider this:
Wonderful, Counselor. He is the living Word, the infallible source of guidance, the inexhaustible wisdom, the Truth, and the Way. On Him will rest the government (the entitlement to rule).
Mighty God. The Child is God incarnate, the omnipotent One. The word translated “Mighty” has the additional meaning of “hero.” The Lord is the infinite Hero of His people, the Divine Warrior who has triumphed over sin and death.
Everlasting Father. Expresses Christ’s fatherly care. The name is not in conflict with that of the First Person of the Trinity. Jesus said to Philip, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). Everlasting can also mean ‘everywhere present’; He has the divine attributes of both eternity and omnipresence as He rules upon the throne of David and within the hearts of the redeemed.
Prince of Peace. His reign will be characterized by shalom, health, well-being, prosperity, happiness, and cessation of enmity.

My prayer for you, my precious friend, is that this Christmas would take on new meaning as you consider the Father’s love. Beneath a starlit night, nestled on a bed of hay within the shelter of a stable, lay the Great I Am! Emmanuel. God with us.
And He is with us still.
I Am that I Am — I Am anything you need Me to be.
If you will only believe on My Son, Jesus.

My daughter, Nancy, is having reconstructive knee surgery today (Wednesday, December 21st) at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC. We will be there a couple of days and then she will stay with me through Christmas as she recovers. I cherish your prayers for my baby girl. This is a major surgery that will take about 3 hours.
I’ll be praying for each of you also. You may contact me directly at nan@nanjones.com if you would like for me to pray for a specific need. I’ll be checking my email this weekend.
Sweet blessings to you, Nan
Nan, remembering you and your daughter in prayer today…..praying for successful surgery (no complications, mistakes, errors or infections); complete healing and total recovery for Nancy. Also, praying for renewed stamina each day while you take care of your daughter during her recovery. May you both experience the Love, Joy, and Peace of our Lord through His Holy Spirit this Glorious Season…..every blessing to you in Christ in the New Year!
Jo-Ann, how sweet of you. Thank you very much. I think we’ve finally turned a corner with recovery from her surgery. We’re sleeping at night and she is able to go longer between pain meds. God has been so very faithful to us. The prayers of family and friends like you kept us before the Lord of Grace and He carried us. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Sweet blessings to you, Nan
