My Singleness of Heart is Being Challenged, Lord
Father, Your greatest commandment is that we love You with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. With my entire being, I love You, Lord! Yet, I am struggling with distractions in my devotion. My singleness of heart is being challenged by difficult places.
You are worthy of all my love. You are worthy of all praise. You are my Lord, but my time with You is constantly being interrupted — many times by my own choices. This is not what I want. Like Paul, the things I don’t want to do, I do, and the things I do want to do, I don’t. I’m so frustrated. Please forgive me.
Give me singleness of heart, Lord. Purify and remove all things that are not of You. Identify the clutter and then give me the tenacity to remove the distractions. I want to be a vessel for Your honor and glory — I want to be holy and acceptable to You … but the war within rages. The battle is relentless. Help me guard my heart with all diligence and lead me to victory.
With singleness of heart, I will praise You, O Lord, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. Teach me Your ways, and I will walk in Your truth. As I offer this problem to You, I trust You to strengthen me to overcome.
When You are Lord of my life, I am complete
You are my everything — my all in all. Without You, I am nothing. I am empty and depleted. But when You are in Your rightful place as Lord of my life, I am complete. You alone satisfy the longing soul. Stir a hunger within me to know You more. Awaken my heart to worship You in spirit and truth. You are the great God!
You are my Beloved. I give You my heart.
