“So wait patiently, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits [expectantly] for the precious harvest from the land, being patient about it, until it receives the early and late rains.” ~ James 5:7, AMP
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:23, NKJV
“And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides.” ~ Luke 21:25, NLT
Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near.” Philippians 4:5, AMP
You Promised Jesus Will Return for Us
Father, You are who You say You are; You do what You say You will do. You are sovereign. You are mighty. You promised Jesus will return for us — how much longer must we wait for the coming of the Lord?
I cannot believe the evil that has been unleashed across the world — the corruption, the deception … the violence, and hatred. Surely it grieves You, too, for this is Your creation. How sad.

Our free will has turned against You, Lord. Have mercy on us. Please forgive us and rise up, O God, to scatter Your enemies.
The earth is groaning. There are signs in the sun and moon and stars. There is dismay and turmoil among the nations — wars and rumors of war — a great turning away from Your standards.
And yet, the Body of Christ grows stronger. You are sifting the wheat from the tares, and exposing the wolves among the sheep. Our hearts are being refined as You call Your children deeper into our relationship with You.
How Much Longer Must We Wait for The Coming of the Lord?
Purify us, Lord, that You might find us faithful when Jesus returns to take us home. What a glorious Day that will be! How much longer must we wait for the coming of the Lord? We need You.
Anxiety grows. Frustration deepens all around me. But You remind me of Your love and the reason for Your waiting — You wait so that all can be saved. You wish that no one should perish. How beautiful is Your love! How incredible is Your longsuffering.

Oh, that I would see through Your eyes, those that are lost. Instead of feeling angry toward their corrupt and greedy ways, I need to feel compassion for their lost souls … just as You do. I must show mercy as You have shown me mercy. I must speak Your truth in love.
Make me brave to shine Your light in the darkness — the lost are drawn to the light. I must not turn a blind eye to their plight.
Forgive me, Lord, for forgetting that You love even those who are so vile — their behavior, no! But You love them and want them to have a chance to know You and find everlasting life.
Come Quickly, Lord Jesus
As we wait for the coming of the Lord, I want my lamp to be filled with oil. Fill me up to overflowing, Lord, that You might be glorified in me, that my life might honor You. I want to serve You more.
My heart swells with wonder as we anticipate the coming of the Lord Jesus. Come quickly, Lord Jesus … in Your perfect time.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so
