My Father's Name is I AM. There is no other god like Him.

I curled my bare toes into the freshly mowed grass. Stretched out, resting on my elbows, I thought about the Lord on this early fall day. So many needs. So many fears. Such despair from all corners of the earth. I would surely lose hope, but I remembered — I remembered my Father’s name is I AM.

I Remembered My Father’s Name

I AM that I AM!

I AM anything you have need of: protection, provision, strength, peace, healing …

Because I am your Father.

And I am the Almighty God.

It’s amazing, isn’t it? The Creator of the Universe knows our names. He knows the needs of our hearts — the wounds, the fears, the joys, hopes, and dreams. He knows it all. And He cares.

Take heart. My Father's Name is I AM, and so is yours.

When I consider the works of His hands I am overwhelmed with awe. His power, His majesty. I’m reminded of Isaiah’s words to Israel in Isaiah 40. He exhorts the people to find comfort in their God.

Perhaps with arms outstretched, with passion and power in his voice, Isaiah proclaims:

“Have you not known? Have you not heard?”

I can hear the roar of his voice as he implores the people of God.

“The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”

Why? How? Because He is our strength, our hope, our peace. When we find Him we find His love which embraces and fulfills the needs of our hearts.

My Father’s Name is I AM and So is Yours

Are you weary, dear one? Have you felt the heat of the Refiner’s Fire, or perhaps the relentless assault of the evil one? Are you experiencing fear over an uncertain future?

Take heart. My Father’s Name is I AM, and so is yours. He promises to carry us as a father carries his son in the wilderness. He promises to feed His flock like a shepherd and gather His lambs in His arms and carry them in His bosom — close enough to hear His heartbeat, close enough to feel His breath of life against a tear-stained face.

My Father’s Name is I Am.

Let that marvelous truth sink in.
